Baltimore is the perfect place to live if you do not want to work for the man. Since 2001 I have had no boss other than myself and I have been able to vacation, party, work, and wake up whenever I feel like it. Anyone can live this life, it just takes creativity, ingenuity, wise real estate purchases, and the ability to ignore most of the rules of the traditional game of life.

About Adam Meister:

After graduating from Washington University in St. Louis in 1998 Adam worked in Manhattan and Silicon Valley for various Dot Com companies during the Dot Com boom of the late 90's. Before the bubble burst Adam moved back to Baltimore and started a his own Internet based company from his apartment in Charles Village. He came up with the Buy-a-Block concept and lead a group of home-owner occupants to purchase numerous houses on the mostly abandoned 2200 block of Linden Avenue in Reservoir Hill. Adam became a vocal community activist encouraging young risk-taking Baltimore area residents to move to not so perfect blocks in the City and help improve Baltimore by physically improving the blocks they moved to. The success of the Buy-a-Block project propelled Adam to a run for City Council in 2007. Adam still runs his company ContactMeister.com from his house where he also runs his popular and City Paper Best of Baltimore award winning politics blog. Adam is currently working on a new revenue model for online newspapers that he plans to debut on the soon to be launched Baltimore Hourly Newspaper site.
